Why

Vigors's erythropterus is the Himalayan population of White-browed Shrike-Babbler (Bhutan, Kumaon and Assam in Gould's text). eBird 2025 keeps ripleyi and validirostris in P. aeralatus, so the species stands whichever race Gould's pair was.
