Why

Gould's Yunx indica has a chestnut-red throat patch and he likens it to Y. pectoralis of South Africa; the plate shows that patch on both birds, which no Eurasian Wryneck has, so it is a Red-throated Wryneck. Its Asian origin is unproven: Gould only believed the skin came from Afghanistan or Tibet.
