Why

leachii as Gould used it is the Glossy Black-Cockatoo. He describes the 'least' species with a swollen bill, feeding only on Casuarina seed, and his synonymy includes Temminck's cookii and solandri. The plate shows crestless brown heads, a bulbous bill and the yellow-patched female on Allocasuarina.
