Why

Hemipodius melanotus Gould (Moreton Bay) is the E Australian race of Red-backed Buttonquail; Ogilvie-Grant lists the plate under Turnix maculosa. The figures have a chestnut hindneck, buff wing coverts with black spots and black-spotted buff sides.
