Why

Stercorarius parasiticus = Larus parasiticus Linn. (Richardson's Skua), Parasitic Jaeger (Arctic Skua); dark and pale birds on the plate. Here Gould uses the name as eBird does; Temminck's Lestris parasiticus, the Long-tailed Skua, sits in V.81's synonymy.
