Modern identification

Eastern Subalpine Warbler

Curruca cantillans

  • Judged
  • Sylviid Warblers and Allies · Sylviidae

Why

Sylvia leucopogon Meyer is a synonym of nominate cantillans (type locality Sicily; Zuccon et al. 2020). Gould's specimens came from Savi of Pisa and from Temminck, and the male's brick-red throat to flanks with a white belly is not Moltoni's pale pink. Eastern Subalpine Warbler, unless Temminck's birds were Provençal (Western).
