Why

Gould's Regulus modestus, from Feldegg's Dalmatian male, is Pallas's Leaf Warbler: the figures have a pale coronal stripe between bright yellow eyebrows, two wing-bars and a pale rump, and Seebohm puts the plate under P. proregulus; the later British 'modestus' were Yellow-browed Warblers.
