Why

Gould's Mormon glacialis has a uniformly orange bill with no grey basal plate or coloured bands (compare plate 403) and long dark horns over the eyes, and some of his specimens came from Kamchatka: a Horned Puffin. Ogilvie-Grant cites this plate under Fratercula corniculata.
