Why

Temminck's and Illiger's Lestris parasiticus is the Long-tailed Skua: the figure has very long, pointed central tail feathers, a grey-toned back and no breast band. Gould's Arctic Skua is 'Richardson's' (plate 441). Trap: modern S. parasiticus is the Arctic Skua.
