Why

Cinclus aquaticus Bechst. = White-throated Dipper, Cinclus cinclus; the plate's white-breasted, chestnut-bellied British bird is the race C. c. gularis (Bechstein's aquaticus is the central European race), set against the black-bellied nominate of II.42.
