Why

Temminck's Sylvia hippolais, which Gould ranges from Sweden to the Mediterranean and to the Dutch coast, is the Icterine Warbler; 'Melodious Willow Wren' was then one of its English names. Seebohm and Dresser put the plate under the Icterine, and the figure's long wing with pale-edged secondaries agrees.
