Why

Temminck's aurita is the pale-throated morph; both males show a narrow mask from the lores below the eye with the forehead pale, not the black band across the forehead of the eastern melanoleuca (Dresser's Smyrna male). Gould gives N Italy, Sardinia and Naples. Western Black-eared Wheatear.
